Body of the blog:

Problem Statement:

If we have deep insight into society we must know that there are many people living around, who are unable to meet both ends. They don’t have enough money to start their business on their own. If we take an example of the living of daily wage workers. Every morning they leave their houses in search of work and there is no guarantee whether they will be able to earn or not. Due to the pandemic, Laborers, especially daily wagers and contract employees are being laid off without any notice. There are hundreds of laborers across the country. It’s time to stand by them in this difficult time. Now the situation is getting better day by day, but It has affected the lives of many that need to be fixed.

Importance:

This project is important because it will bring out light into the lives of people who are living in miserable conditions. Also, there are many families (only women) in our society so It will help them in earning.

Our target audience:

  • People of all ages (no matter what is their caste, color or creed).
  • Strongly hit by poverty or unemployment.
  • Families without any head.
  • Widows.

Location:

  • Lahore is one of the most rushy cities of Pakistan. People of different areas come to earn and live here. The project will be executed in Lahore where the mostly middle-class and lower class families are living their life. Providing the working opportunity in that part will help the community and also the ones family.
  • It can also be in the neighborhood of our living area.
  • It can also be in hostels. (any employee who is going through tough time)

Media Platforms:

We will use Facebook, Instagram and whats app for collecting funds for this project. We have created a Facebook page named “Voices of the Unheard”.

Why using social media:

The purpose of using social media is to grab attention in a massive amount. So, that more people will be able to connect and feel the pain of others. Also, in this era of the internet, It’s more easy to reach out to people by means of social media. People can easily transfer money online i-e bank account number, jazz cash, easy paisa.

Solution:

There is a need to take an initiative at micro level to help others. So, we will collect funds from friends, families, common friends and through their links. We will conduct workshops at universities. We will reach out to people outside at malls and shops. With the collection of funds, we will collect the data of needy families side by side. We will give them money to start their earning from fruit stalls and some other stuff like that.

Timeline:

  • In the first week (06–09–2020 to 12–09–2020), we will create a Facebook page and posters for the publicity of our project. It will help us in collecting funds. It will help us to reach maximum people and add their responses for the coming weeks.
  • In the second week (13–09–2020 to 19–09–2020), we will start collecting funds online. Also we will do workshops in universities for funds. Also we will run a campaign with the help of our friends in order to support the project.
  • In the third week (20–09–2020 to 26–09–2020), besides collecting funds, we will also collect the data of our target audience for the execution of our project in the coming week.
  • In the fourth week (27–10–2020 to 03–10–2020), we will start the execution of our project with the help of funds that have been collected so far. Then we will complete the documentation and presentation for submission.

Task Division:

The distribution of the tasks of the project are as follows:

  • Kinza is handling the social media (Facebook page) and making posters for the updates. Also collecting funds (10k as per member).
  • Nasrat and Bilal are reaching out to people physically for collecting funds (10k per member). Also arranging workshops at university.
  • Tanveer is helping in writing stuff and working on ideas for pulling more poeple.
  • Total amount that we have to collect is 40k.

Reflections:

Following are the reflections of our project which are divided into several parts:

  • Challenges
  • Benefits
  • Group learning
  • Principles and values
  • Future learning

Benefits:

  • Working as a team helps us in solving many questions regarding mega projects for which we arrange meetings on zoom to give our suggestions and ideas on different problems.
  • Sharing ideas and receiving positive feedback.
  • Working in a team gives confidence.
  • Time saving or time management by completing the given task on time.
  • Unity to achieve our common goal.

Challenges:

  • Due to pandemic and also belonging to different areas we are unable to join each other physically.
  • Solution# we arrange a meeting on zoom and we have decided to work in our own areas.
  • Some of our members are busy in their academic exams.
  • Solution# remaining members have decided to increase their working hours on a mega project to compensate for that.
  • Due to the pandemic and closing situation of different institutes, there is a problem in collecting funding for the mega project.
  • Solution# using different social media and friends circle to collect funds and individually collect funds from belonging to the city.

Learning of all the team members:

1. Kinza: I am learning many things during fund collection. Like, How to deal with people? How to convince them? How to spend quality time?

2. Tanveer: I am many things from group discussion that how to approach different things according to their requirement.

3. Bilal: I am learning by facing failure when someone refuses to donate.

4. Nasrat: I am learning to deal with procrastination.

Group learning:

The main core of the whole project is team work. We all are learning by coordinating with each other. Whenever , there is any difficulty in running the project smoothly. We all are up for that. If any of the group member is busy in some other activities or with their exams. The other members are taking the responsibility in carrying out the tasks without disturbing or complaining.Like, Nasrat and Bilal are having their finals. Now the other two members are more vigilant and trying to compensate their absence. We are also learning how to slove problems. Like, we were facing difficulty in funds collection. So, we divided the tasks equally.

Principles:

  • Amal

Helping needy in any situation and stepping out of your comfort zone to start helping needy without thinking about the consequences.

  • Khudi

Working by stepping out from your comfort zone and facing different barriers to know your skills and to deal with such barriers and difficulties

  • Kam Kam aur Kam

Managing time to continuously deal with academic activities and mega projects activities and trying our best to do more and more for needy people.

  • Aik aur Aik Gyara

Teamwork helps to find out better and refined ideas after discussion and there is always positive feedback

Values:

  • Honesty

We all are doing this mega project to help needy people and during the whole of the project we will stay honest

  • Growth

Helping some needy and convincing them to help other needy people and also, we collect some share from those selected needy persons to help others.

  • Responsibility

Completing the given task on time and determined to complete the final project.

  • Acceptance

Accepting failure as a breeding ground for success when someone refuses to donate.

  • Humility

Showing humbleness while asking for help and sometimes someone uses harsh words so we should show some modesty.

Future learning:

After completion of the mega project, we will continue to help others by collecting some share from the needy persons that are selected for the mega project at least 20%of their profit after the successful establishment of their business and also convincing them to share or contribute for the Nobel deeds. Also, we can run a small organization where we can apply all our learning of this fellowship and of mega projects. It will help us a lot in working with a team. We will be able to implement our problem solving techniques. We are good at task division to meet deadlines.
