Problem Statement:

In every society in a developing country where the rate of poverty is so high, there are the people and families which are masked and the conditions and feelings behind these masks never shown or described in front of someone. The team screaming eagles aims to help the needy and poor unemployed peoples by providing them a small business to run their family and give the peoples the awareness of helping and giving hands to the needy ones.

Progress:

The project is divided into five phases:

1.The identification of problems in the society in finding its long-term solution as entrepreneurship. The first starting week was spent on the identification of the problem in the society and finding its solution. For this purpose, everyone was asked to write a blog on the problem and its solution and share it in the group and the best among all will be selected for the execution and finally, after the discussion the above-mentioned project is selected as a megaproject with the name of Voices of Unheard.

2.The fund Raising for the Project. After the selection of the project and its title, all the members were asked to start a campaign for fundraising through social media platforms and asking for help from different charity foundations and asking the friends and different family members for help.

3. The finding of the personal (families) for the project. With the fundraising, all the members were also in the search of a needy and deserving family who took a long time and different charity foundations were also asked for the help.

4. The implementation of the project After the finding of the deserved family and fundraising for the project the Amal fellows reached the family and spent some time with the family and provided with the needs and requirements for the start of their work.

5. The continuity of the project for the future. The project will be continued in the future and for the purpose, the helped families are also asked to share a little amount of profit on the platform on monthly bases and the group was able to make a starting business for the two families which will be continued for a long time to help the more needy peoples and serve humanity.

Issues and solution:

It was not an easy task to collect the funds and find a deserving family but they never showed their needs or moved their hands to big someone for help.

Solution to Fundraising issue:

1. Collection from different University students The fund-raising issue is solved by collecting and helping different university students who have the enthusiasm to help the poor and make us able to meet the amount needed for the starting of this work.

2. Through the Social Media Campaign The Facebook page was created on the name of Voices of Unheard for fundraising and the campaign to give people awareness to help others.

3. Getting help from different Charity Foundations We contacted different charity foundations like Nusrah foundation, khobaib foundation, and Kare-Kamal in the list for the help but not received a good response from them regarding the fund-raising issue.

Solution for finding a Deserving Family:

Finding a family who is deserving and committed to start their own business but having no source of income for this was not easy. Finally, after a long search and the cooperation of Kar-e-kamal (charity Foundation), we found a family in the Rahim Yar Khan and Amal fellows visited the family after traveling for 3 hours to help them.

Change in Approach:

The whole aim and objective of the team are shared with the Nusrah foundation which will help the team in fundraising and finding the needy family.

Impact:

The project will impact the needy people and the rate of poverty will be decreased in the country and people will find their interest job or business in the country.

Sustainability:

The helped families are asked to give some amount from the profits to the team on a monthly basis so that in the future the project should be continued and help the needy people.

Continuation of project:

  • Project can be improved with the involvement of other members and some members are ready to help us by giving monthly donations and in continuing that chain of helping others.
  • Collaborating with Nusrah foundation help us in improving our project
  • Collecting some funds from those families who were already helped by voices of unheard and also collecting donations from different institutes/students as universities are opening soon. This will help us in helping other needy families and spreading this chain.
  • Spreading our message on different social media sites.

Identifying challenges and benefits

Challenges:

  • The main challenge that we faced was finding the needy and deserving family
  • Finding the appropriate business in which at least one member from the needy family has some experience of that business.
  • Fund collection
  • Time management; as universities are open now and most members are busy in academic activities.

Solutions/Benefits:

  • We divided our work and one of our members went for the execution of a project to help the needy family in Ubauro district Ghotki Sindh.
  • For the selection of appropriate business for the needy family we collected information from the family and after having zoom meeting for finalizing the business we established a street vendor business (having fruits and vegetables on handcart)
  • For fund collection, we used our personal references because due to COVID we were unable to go outside for fund collection.
  • Division of work among different members helped in the completion of our work.

Group learning:

  • Every member shared his work and experience in WhatsApp group
  • Every decision is taken after finalizing from all members on zoom meeting

Future learning:

Meeting with different families and coming out of our comfort zone to know about this side of society. We have learned many new things:

  • It’s not an easy task to go to random people and ask them about their needs. It’s also challenging for them too.
  • We learned how to connect and interact with such people. Also, we learned how to work and perform better in a team.
  • It develops a sense of responsibility amongst all of us to be more vigilant towards our surroundings.
  • It helped us to be more grounded and made us realize that if you give more, the more you’ll be satisfied.
  • Also, we have collaborated with NUSRAH FOUNDATION. We have sent our data to them.
  • We have planned an in-person meeting with them.
  • We are now a part of the NUSRAH FOUNDATION and will learn and be able to see the society from very near.
